"Bourders? I have never seen one.
But I have heard they exist in the minds of some people" Thor Heyerdahl
"Thor Heyerdahl Minneskulptur
This "Thor Heyerdahl Memorial Stone" was commissioned by the Thor Heyerdahl Institute in Larvik for the Larvik Poetry Park. The Poesipark in Larvik distributes poems and quotes in public spaces in Larvik to attract the attention of the population. Heyerdahl's quote "Borders? I have never seen one. But I have heard they excist in the mind of some people" is intended to encourage reflection and inquiry in the spirit of the poetry park.
Thor Heyerdahl was born in Larvik and became famous for his expeditions across the Atlantic. The sculpture refers to the surface of limitless water, as well as the deep blue Larvikitt stone from Larvik and creates a connection to Thor Heyerdahl's quote.
